Summer has arrived!
Is your sunscreen putting
you at an increase risk of
developing skin cancer?
New research has shown
that sunscreen with retinyl palmitate, a
vitamin A compound similar
to retin-A which is known
for its anti-aging
applications, increases
risk of developing skin
cancer 11-21% faster than
sunscreen without retinyl
palmitate!
Dermatologists recommend
using a sunscreen without retinyl
palmitate that is a water-resistant, broad-spectrum
sunscreen of SPF 30 in
conjunction with wearing
protective clothing and
seeking shade.
More than 1 million new
cases of skin cancer will
be diagnosed in the US
this year.
Which reminds me to tell
you to get a little sun
without sunscreen (15
minutes) to get your
vitamin D, which has
anti-cancer qualities, and
then apply some good
quality sunscreen without retinyl palmitate.
Enjoy your summer!! |
