Bone Health -- start young to keep bones strong

This week's health tip is on bone health.

Did you know that your peak bone building years are from when you are a teenager until your early 30s?  After that you slowly lose or maintain your bone density.

So while you are young, eat plenty of calcium rich foods like broccoli, tofu, kidney beans and other greens.  Also get plenty of weight bearing exercise and take your vitamin D as this vitamin will keep your calcium levels high.

When you are past the peak bone building years, following the same will help optimize maintenance of bone density.
