Electrolytes - the importance of electrolytes

"Electrolytes are very important in our diets. 

What are they?  Sodium, Chloride, Potassium, Calcium and Magnesium. 

When these electrolytes are too low or too high in your blood they can bring on many symptoms such as fatigue, heart palpations, muscle weakness, headaches and confusion.

Replenishing your electrolytes is easy.  Just drink a good electrolyte replacement drink. 

I don't recommend the commercial drinks such as Gatorade.  Gatorade has artificial colors and flavors which can cause hyperactivity in some kids and adults. 

Emergen-C is a good replacement drink.  It comes in flavored powder form and can be mixed with plain water or in such drinks as a protein shake or smoothie.

So if you are starting to feel fatigued, drink some electrolytes to boost your energy.  It will make a big difference!!"
