Memory  -- various things we can do daily to maintain healthy memory

Today's health tip deals with some simple, easy ways to keep your memory sharp.

We are all concerned about our memories failing or developing dementia as we age.  So here are some basic things to do, if you remember. 

When driving to the store go a different route.  When shopping at the store start in a different area than you usually do.  Try a different morning or night routine.  Why will these things help your memory?

We have pathways or circuits in our brains that are accustomed to doing things a certain way.  By changing the way we do things it changes those pathways and circuits and therefore keeps our minds stimulated.  

By doing different things we keep these brain pathways growing and changing to keep our minds fresh and young.  Reading, doing games, staying active, exercising, and sleeping well are all very important too.  If you realize that you are in a rut and doing the same things every day then try a different pattern and see how you feel!

Do something different every day and challenge your brain!
