"It's
Heart Health month and
it's so important to keep
our heart in shape since
heart disease is the number
one killer of women and
men.
The number one way
to a healthy heart is,
of course, exercise. We
need to exercise DAILY. I
think that daily aerobic
exercise for even 15 minutes
is ideal because it's not
too long of a time, it's
every day and we can afford
to get our heart rate up for
15 minutes a day. Plus when
we do something everyday we
make a habit of it a lot
faster.
Diet is also key. Eat lots
of berries as they are great
for our blood vessels and
have antioxidant effects
too. Hawthorne berry is
specific for the heart.
Cholesterol is important but
what is more important is the
ratio between HDL and LDL
and the ratio between Cholesterol and HDL.
These ratios give us a more
precise look at your heart
risk than just cholesterol
itself. HDL is good
cholesterol and LDL is the
bad cholesterol. Exercise
raises HDL!!
Get some
good sleep. Getting good
quality sleep keeps your blood
pressure low and your stress
levels down and therefore
decreases your risk for heart
attack and stroke.
Start with
those and your on your way to
better heart health."
