Heart Health in Menopause -- physical & emotional support

"Heart disease, such as high blood pressure, strokes, and heart attacks, is the number one killer of women over the age of 50.  Heart attacks are twice as deadly in women as men. 

Of women with breast cancer, one in twenty-five will die from the disease.  While heart disease will be the cause of death for one in two women who have heart disease. 

Such chilling facts about heart disease in menopause should make us pay more attention to our physical heart and emotional heart.  There are a lot of emotional changes that occur in a woman's life around and during menopause.  Exercise, good sleep and happy home life all are very important to our hearts. 

Many supplements can help the physical heart to stay healthy yet our best tool, I believe, for keeping the heart in its best shape is to give yourself lots of emotional support.  This might be in the form of getting together with friends and laughing a lot; it might be a spa day here and there; it might be a hike or activity out doors. 

We all need to find our emotional support, our joy, our passion to keep our hearts healthy."
