Sleep...it does the body good

"Happy New Year!  Most people have made some sort of New Year's resolution to lose weight, eat better and exercise more.  These are the most common resolutions people make.

But what about sleep?  Sleep is one of the most restorative ways to heal yourself.  Sleep is a very powerful healer for our immune system, endocrine system and the rest of our body.  We all need it but we usually don't focus on how important it is until we are sick or just simply run down from not getting enough quality sleep.   

Cortisol plays a big role in how deeply we sleep and our ability to wake rested.  Stress brings cortisol levels up and that can interrupt our sleep.  Elevated cortisol levels can be treated with proper diagnosis and we can begin to restore your quality of sleep.

Sleep problems can often be a fairly easy thing to correct.  By simply checking your blood work and adrenals I can tell a lot about how you are sleeping...or not, as the case may be...and a corrective course of treatment can be developed for you.

Make a resolution to really focus on your sleep and your health will be so much better.  Sleep...it does the body good."
